HUSKIES VS. TWIN CENTRES LL1
We had the lead...just couldn't HOLD the lead...
Your Huskies met the Twin Centres LL1 team to ring in the New Year, and started out very promising! The boys went up 2-0 in the first period, with all lines clicking and everyone on their assignments. Strong defense once again and forwards moving the puck up the ice with solid positioning. Second period...different story! Twin Centres changed their offensive strategy and took advantage of our pinching defensemen. A few offsides took away a couple of our scoring chances, and before we knew it the score was tied at 2, nearing the end of the third. Once again, a lingering TC forward capitilized on a loose puck, and despite a solid goaltending effort throughout the game, Deklan was beat with 11 seconds left in the game. No quit for your Huskies though- with the goalie pulled and 6 players strong, they drove to the net from the center face off and gave them one more solid shot on net with only 5 seconds remaining, but to no avail. Twin Centres would win this one 3-2. If the stats are correct, this Twin Centres team beat the first place Huskies team 9-1 in their first meeting! We get a rematch this upcoming Sunday! The hardest working player could have been one of many for this game, but for showing consistent improvement, great positioning, and again, a strong "no quit" effort, this weeks award goes to Hayden Jack!
