Major Peewee Huskies Champs at Kitchener Early Bird Tournament
The New Hamburg Legion Major Peewee Huskies opened their
season with their first Tournament of the year going undefeated.
Round robin wins against Bradford 4-1, Brampton 3-1, and Southpointe 4-1, setup a semi final with Brampton again with a similar 3-1 win. The final was against Center Wellington who was a tough opponent but the Huskies continued to work hard and became Champs with a 4-1 win. Everyone contributed to the scoring with Josh Soulliere leading the way with 6 goals and 4 assists, Ayden Wilkins with 3 goals and Ethan Lichti with a goal and 3 assists. Riley Gerber had 5 assists as he out worked opponents and set up a number of goals. 2 goal scorers were Dakota Dahmer, Cohen Christner and Cohen Van Zuilen. Kaden Eichler and Colin Jantzi chipped in with 1 each. Deklan Jermol and Jake Durrer backstopped the team to all the wins allowing only 1 goal in each game. The team looks forward to the regular season which starts on September 19 at home.
