U13 A' 'Huskies Evaluation Process & Criteria
Welcome to all local NHHA players and to all non-resident players pursuing a position with the U13 'A' New Hamburg Huskies.

Quality communication and transparency will be a top priority for the coaching staff during the selection process. Please take the time to review the criteria that evaluators will be applying when completing a documented player evaluation.

We are looking forward to greeting you at the registration table on May 3rd. Please arrive by 3:45pm at the latest to register and prepare.

Players attending the evaluations will receive the 'EYE TEST' during the May 3rd & 4th period. The 'eye test' is simply judging the players talents and potential based on watching their performance alone without formal documentation or scoring.

An accumulation of evaluation scores vs. games played will be taken into consideration when determining the final U13 'A' roster. Independent guest evaluators will be joining the process to enhance the transparency of our selections.

Please know that NRP (Non-resident player) positions are available but limited and will be applied if the player ranks high enough to improve the roster.

PLAYER RANKINGS – U13 A: (7 being the highest rank and 1 being the lowest.)
7 - A player that has AAA ability and should be at that level.
to
1 - A player that cannot play at the 'A' level and needs time to develop at lower levels.

7 | FRANCHISE PLAYER (Should be competing at the AAA level)
•Refers to a player with several outstanding qualities who singularly upgrades the value of the team and is singularly responsible for greatly increasing the team’s ability to finish higher in the standings and progressing further in the playoffs.

6 | IMPACT PLAYER (Top 3 Fwd. / Top D-Pairing)
•Refers to a player with two or more outstanding qualities who is capable of singularly affecting the outcome of individual games with his play; either in one specific area of the game or in multiple areas of the game but who is not regarded as a franchise player.

5 | QUALITY PLAYER (Mid-range Fwd. or D that may be your best player some nights or otherwise)
•Refers to a player who is relied upon every game and has at least one outstanding quality which sets him apart from regular players but who is not regarded as an impact player.

4 | REGULAR PLAYER (3rd line Fwd. or 3 pairing D)
•Refers to a player who can play on the team due to our needs for depth but does not have one outstanding quality that distinguishes him as a quality player.

3 | ROLE PLAYER (May be required on the roster however not ideal to make us stronger)
•Refers to a limited player who may ‘fit in’ on the team because of one strong asset; be it size, compete level, speed, etc. but who is not good enough to be a difference maker on a regular basis.

2 | DEPTH PLAYER (If we are to become stronger this player would not be on the roster)
•Refers to a player who is potentially a good player at the lower level and may only be effective playing a small role when the need arises for an affiliate player. (A.P.)

1 | DEVELOPMENT PLAYER (This player is best to be released and needs time to develop.)
•Refers to a player who doesn't measure up due to a general lack of overall ability. This player is just not able; or a player who isn’t welcome for a particular reason (attitude / bad teammate)
