Big Playoff Win
Today was a great team effort as we played a well rounded game against a tough LL2 team. Owen was the Slushie skater today as he held the blue line as we learned in practice Thursday. He was impossible to get around on the boards and made sure the forwards could stay deep as he blasted it back into the zone whenever it came close to the blue line.
Brayden moved back to play "D" today and made a 1 man rush that nobody could stop and buried it past the goalie and it proved to be the game winner.
New sticks were the secret of scoring today as Cole got 3 and Tye buried 1 as the game was secured with a 5-1 win. Assists went to Brayden, Sam, Cohen, Kaden and Owen on the goals.
Returning from vacations were Riley and Sam and they bolstered our offence and it's great to be back to almost a full lineup. Cooper returned from injury Wednesday and was doing his job out front of their goalie.
The boys made an extra effort to contain the LL2 scoring machine and did that job today with extra backchecking. Kaden tracked down #7 twice on breakaways and the defense of Cohen, Brayden and Owen made sure he couldn't get through to be on his own as he burned us 3 times on Wednesday in the battle of Plattsville.
Brody turned aside early shots and a blast from the circle in the last few minutes to make sure the score stayed the same.
A rare Tuesday practice at 4:30 this week is our next ice time.
The League Semi finals is on Thursday March 21 against the LL1 team (Lichti) at 6:00pm.
