LL#3 Huskies Tie St. George

A thrill to watch with end to end play and outstanding action...

The teams were evenly matched and worked hard for all of their scoring opportunities.  Charlie Slessor got the Huskies going in the first minute of the game with a gorgeous slot pass from Jack Weiler, also assisted by Evan Pfaff.  The Huskies took a two point lead a few minutes later when Mason Wagner hammered one from the point, a second assist to Pfaff.  The Generals were not backing down and had a super star player, Logan Black, small but mighty, who wasn't afraid to throw his weight around.  Black also had hands of gold and was a true playmaker, as he went on to cash in three times in the game for the Generals, with help from linemate Dylan Koops.  Matt Krmpotic, Huskies' goaltender had a terrific game as he moved well and made aggressive saves.  As well, Wagner, Alex Gruhl and Joseph Heiss were tough on 'D'.  Putting great pressure on St. George, late in the second, Ryan Hillar backhanded the third goal for the Huskies, assisted by Wagner.  Brandon Jantzi and Marcus Schied were aggressive on the boards, and Logan Arnott, Devin Merchalko and Brady Richardson skated hard the entire game and backchecked consistently.  The fourth Husky goal was scored early in the third period by Jack Weiler on a breakaway and the Huskies had to hold off the Generals to secure the win.  The boys worked hard but lost some steam late in the third and the game ended in a tie.  The fans were not disappointed.  The Huskies will play at home versus Ayr this Saturday at 1:00 pm.  GO HUSKIES!
