Miller with the Winner as Huskies Defeat Flames
Hot off a win the previous day against St.George, the Atom LL2 Huskies were at home again to host a familiar foe in the Ayr Flames on Sunday December 29th 2013.

Both teams were determined to come up with the win as evident in the tight play and great effort displayed.   The Huskies controlled most of the play in a scoreless first period and forced the Ayr goaltender to make several saves.

The offensive pressure continued in the second period as Huskies Liam Banwell finally solved the opposing goaltender to put the home squad up 1-0, assist coming from Jack Rempel.

Still in the second and on the penalty kill,  D-man Jack Miller pounced on a loose puck in the neutral zone and turned on the jets to wrist one into the Ayr net for what would turn out to be the winner for the Huskies.

A  great job killing off three consecutive penalties combined with solid defense and goaltending resulted in a 2-1 Huskies victory.   The team is now 4-1 in their last 5 games.

The team now heads to Paris for the Wolfpack LL Tournament.  GO HUSKIES!!
