Stellar Season Opener
The Pewee Huskies LL3 team got off to a fantastic start in their first league game against the Hesspler Shamrocks. The game started off with a quick goal from Hesspler right off the opening face-off. That seemed to wake the New Hamburg boys up and they quickly launched an all out attack that lasted the remainder of the game. Joey opened up the scoring with a beautiful wraparound goal that left the Hesspler net minder wrapped around the posts.

Drew continued the scoring drive with a great second effort to shovel in a luck that was stranded on the goal line. Chazen put in two beautiful goals within minutes of each other and then set up Drew for his second of the period. Tyson rounded out the scoring with a great tip in from a point shot that left the Hesspler Goalie helpless. Kai did a great job at the Huskies end of the rink making some solid saves on the few attempts that Hesspler did get. The second period remained scoreless despite the constant onslaught from the Huskies and due to a goalie change by Hespler. Dominik took over for Kai between the pipes and made some great saves to keep the game at 6-1. Chazen got the hat trick to take the score to 7-1 early in the third with another beautiful goal, in which the other team voted him as the player of the game!
The parents in the stands were awed at the passing game that the boys put together. They supported each other with great back checking and forechecking. The cycled the puck well in the offensive zone with crisp, heads-up passes. All in all, they looked like a well seasoned team, not a group who only started playing together a few weeks ago, as the score sheet showed 9 different players with points! Kudos to the coaching staff for all of their hard work and a huge congratulations to the boys on an impressive first win! Now, if only Jackson can remember that crucial piece of equipment then he won't need to replace it with a sock next game :)
