Battle of the Goaltenders!
The New Hamburg Huskies travelled to Beverly to take on their arch-rivals the Bandits in the third game of their playoffs. The Huskies had something to prove after a great overtime win against the Embro Edge that was called back as a tie. Both teams came out of the gate flying with end to end action and several great chances for both teams.

The goalies were strong at either end of the ice and were able to keep the score 0-0. Both teams continued to apply pressure and the Huskies were able to capitalize on some good pressure down low with Joey making a great move to beat the Beverly goalie and put the Huskies up 1-0. The Bandits did not back down and #32 answered back with a beautiful goal that beat Dominik in the top corner.
The second period saw the Huskies come out a little slower than the first. The boys had difficulty clearing the puck from their own end and only several great saves by Dominik kept the score at 1-1. The sustained pressure was too much for the Huskies to bear and #32 capitalized on a tired shift to put his second goal of the game in.
The third period was truly a goaltending battle, with both teams getting numerous shots off. Dominik was able to keep the team in striking distance with several amazing saves. The Huskies, however, were unable to figure out the Beverly goaltender who made several amazing glove saves to maintain a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies mounted a great offensive push in the last few minutes of the game but were unable to find the equalizer. It was a great game to watch and this reporter looks forward to the next time these two teams meet! Good luck in the playoffs boys!
