Bantam AE Wins at Home
The Bantam AE New Hamburg Huskies, sponsored by EJ's at Baden Tavern, have thrown a W in the column as they handily defeated Hespeler this past Saturday at home. The dogs are now undefeated at home after a struggle on the road. Off to a slower start, the AE team has played some strong centres, but now is beginning to find their way. As the team bonds as unit, the puck is finding the back of the net for the Huskies.
In Saturday's show down, Matt Krmpotic secured the shut-out after tremendous physical play by the defensive squad including Cam Lowry, Kyle Green, Joseph Heise, Wes Howey, Ryan Hillar, and call up AP player Evan Shannon who had a fantastic game. Charlie Slessor led the way for the Huskies with a sweet pass from Jack Weiler scoring early in the first period. All three forward lines contributed great hustle but Chazen Snyder lit the lamp twice for the Huskies with unassisted goals in the second. Solid backchecking and neutral zone play from Logan Arnott, Jordan Hempey, Brandon Jantzi and AP Tyler Wagler. Luke Aikman assisted the fourth goal by Marcus Scheid and Joseph Heise nailed the fifth with a beautiful rush and top-shelf shot. The team played as a unit and controlled the pace of play. The final 5-0 versus Hespeler. The Huskies have a busy Hallowe'en weekend as they take on Stoney Creek and Brampton in two home games this coming weekend.
