New Hamburg Peewee AE vs Arthur Vipers
The PeeWee AE’s bounty was plentiful on Thanksgiving weekend. The Huskies dominated the Arthur Vipers with a convincing 7-0 victory. From the onset of the first faceoff the Dogs moved any obstacles with solid checks, stickwork and passing. It was evident the Vipers are not used to this level of physical play which resulted in many retaliatory penalties for them.

Ethan Fields’ breakout pass enabled Jared Proll to put the Dogs on the board first with a missile from the point. Aggressive rebounding in the Vipers pit rewarded Brandon Ropp with the second goal. Ryan Pierson’s second period drop pass to the point saw Alexander Kyle rip one from the point through traffic that Vipers Goaltender Ryan Platt didn’t have a chance against, making it 3-0. Both teams were playing with short benches due to the Holiday weekend but this didn’t slow the Dogs. Instead, the increased ice time showed the grit the Dogs have developed early in league play. Sam Herrle and Emitt Latyn did their jobs and more, setting up numerous plays. Adam Barr and Scott Carey erected a defensive wall that crumbled many charging opponents. To the Vipers’ dismay the five shots on net were stonewalled by a redhot Tyler Jackman. Carey’s rebounded shot from the point was put away by Josh Potts to make it 4. Opening play in the third saw Barr’s shot from the point poked in by Ethan Field for the fifth. The same occurred again from Kyle’s point shot and Proll’s rebound for the sixth. The final rush saw Nick Egli’s forward pass to Tyson Wagler top shelfed. Huskies 7, Vipers 0. League play continues in Oakville October 9th. Go Huskies!!!
