Another "W" for the boys
Great effort by everyone! Passing and goaltending were the keys to the victory! Keep up the good work....

With a perfect record on the line, the boys came out skating hard in the first period. There was lots of neutral zone play throughout most of the game as the opposing team found a way to lock our boys out of the scoring areas. The opposing defense pressed relentlessly. The only way to move the puck was by passing, and the boys did just that. The first goal was a beauty as Riley G and Brendan G passed the puck back and forth multiple times all the way from our blue line to the opposing crease, where Brendan buried a wrister. It honestly looked like a drill in practice (excellent job). It took until the end of the first before we found the back of the net again. Bryson Hughes got into the action by stopping an opposing rush and clearing the puck up the boards where Brendan was waiting. Textbook play by Bryson which earned him the assist as Brendan snapped a shot top shelf for the second score of the game.
The second period was a defensive battle from beginning to end. Without Riley Cook-Reiner between the pipes kicking out the pucks and making an incredible diving paddle save, the momentum surely would have tilted in the opposing teams favour. The dying minutes of the period seemed to bring a sense of urgency as we couldn't solve the goalie at the other end. Finally Brendan was able scoop up a loose puck in the offensive zone and rifle it by the tender for the only score of the period.
LL 4 was by no means out of the game as they came back pressing again in the 3rd period. Our boys weren't out of gas yet either. Jayden was on his game as usual, as he made a stellar kick save and then blocked a high wrist shot with his right shoulder. Cohen Christner made a difference as he stole a puck in the neutral zone and fired it deep into LL4's end. Max Berry and Owen Donkers went racing in after the puck as Matt Schaadt placed himself perfectly in front of the net. The puck was snapped at the net from an off angle and through defending traffic, Matt grabbed it up and stuffed it past the goalie on the far side. It was a huge goal with only half of a period to play, it may have put the game out of reach. LL4 certainly didn't give up as they continued to pressure our defense and get shots on net. The boys looked like they were out of gas until Stu Hartman poked the puck away from one of the offensive wingers. The puck squirted out to Riley G who looked up to see Brendan streaking out of our end. Riley fired the pass right on the tape as Brendan was behind all the defenders and on a clear breakaway. Brendan made no mistake as the period ended.
