Local League Semi Finals - LL3 vs LL2
An action packed semi-final game ended up with a score of 6-1 for LL2.
Your LL3 Huskies were a bit short handed Thursday night but that didn't stop them from giving it their all. After a slow start that put LL2 up 2-0, your LL3 Huskies started to forecheck tenaciously and hustle back to our end. With lots of chances at both ends both goalies had to stand their ground. Deklan J made a couple of huge acrobatic saves for your Huskies and helped swing the momentum. This ultimately lead to Zack K's fifth goal of the year, which he celebrated with a number of moves that haven't been seen before.
With the score 4-1 going into the third, the boys felt a comeback was in their sights. They gave it everything they had, coming back to the bench exhausted after each shift. They couldn't catch a bounce to get that next goal and when the horn went off the final score was 6-1 in favour of LL2.
Great effort by all the boys. A special thank you to Coach Dean who helped out in what was his Novice coaching debut.
With the Optimist tournament coming this weekend, the boys should be primed to take a run at the championship!
