Huskies vs. Vipers Friday
By Jeff Porchak: The New Hamburg Atom AE Huskies closed out the regular season with a tough 4-2 loss the Arthur Vipers.
After Braden Pfaff scored early in the game for an early lead, the Vipers slithered back into the game with a quick reply to even the contest. Three quick goals for Arthur in the second gave the Huskies a tough hole to climb out of but to the team's credit they played determined hockey. Brendan Larocque got the Huskies within two in the third but that was as close as they could get. Kudos to the Huskies for a very solid third period on the power play and the penalty kill.The Huskies conclude the regular season with a record of 14 -8-6, ending the season with a 6-2-2 run in their last 10 games and finishing in second place. Next Thursday marks the start of the playoffs, with a home game against the Woolwich Wildcats.
