Peewee LL3 Huskies GRLL Champs!
The LL3 Huskies ended their season with a spectacular win over The Embro Edge in front of a capacity crowd in New Hamburg last night. The Boys were the A final winners, capping a great playoff run that saw them defeat two very strong Embro teams.
Last night's game was a perhaps the most complete team effort that the boys have shown all season. The boys came out flying in the first period and had several great shots on net. The period saw fast paced back and forth action with Kai making several key saves to keep the game even. The huskies were able to capitalize on great passing and forechecking to final go ahead 2 goals in the first.
The second period was more end to end action with all of the Huskies playing a great defensive game to keep the lead. It was great to see all of the forwards back in their own end to help their defence out, and the defense blocking shots while Kai continued his streak and kept the puck out of the net. The Huskies were able to put one more in to take the score to 3-0 in the second period.
The crowd was concerned that the Huskies would lose steam in the third because of the pace of the game and the great skating Embro team but the boys were determined to give Kai the shutout victory. 2 more Husky goals in the third seemed to take the steam out of the Embro team who could not figure out how score on the tenacious Huskies.
The boys played their hearts out and showed that teamwork and determination can take you all the way. A huge congratulations to the LL3 Huskies on a fantastic regular season and playoff run. You truly are champions!
