Woolwich Teams Continue to Stump Huskies
The Huskies made their way up the expressway to maple syrup country Sunday for a bye week, exhibition game with the Wildcats LL4 team in St. Jacobs. Even though we were on a bye week, the boys and coaches were eager to put some systems and adjustments in to place before regular season games resume next week.

Although the boys were all charged up and ready to go, there were several faces in unfamiliar places and it showed. Right from the opening face off we found that we were facing a talented, disciplined and well-coached Wildcats squad. Our team had their hands full with some smooth skaters and sharp shooters. The good news is that even though the ice may have seemed tilted at times and I think at one point the arena staff had to change the goal-light bulb, our guys skated very well with determination and real grit for three long periods. Speaking on behalf of the staff,  we were very impressed and inspired to see the boys take on the concepts and systems we have been working hard on in practices. In a tough game like that, I was most proud to see a team down by touch down or so and not see one head hanging low or any player not jumping out on the ice to take their shift. There were several boys considered for the weekly "Huskies Hammer" award (and congrats to Kalan for taking it home), but every boy on the team showed the qualities the "Hammer" signifies.  Great Job Boys!
