Pay Dirt in Plattsville
As the Huskies bus rolled into Plattsville Tuesday, we were very eager to get back into the win column as we march towards the Woolwich Challenge Cup this weekend. We didn't have great results for the start of our extended road trip and wanted to go into a big weekend on a high note.
At the puck drop, as encouraged by the coaches, we put on the pressure in the offensive end getting to pucks , pinching in at the blue line and sending rubber constantly to the net. Eventually this effort paid off and we finally got one by a very solid Rage goalie. We kept up this pace throughout the game with focused play at both ends with boys helping each other out and stepping up to fill a role as needed. A balanced scoring attack, efficient defense and even a shutout-saving leather flash sealed a momentum-building win which we will gladly like to build on this Friday night. The usual snipers showed up tallying points, with Hayden getting back to his goal-a-game average by notching a pair. Owen was silent but deadly, searching pucks , keeping plays alive and generally outworking his opponents wherever he was making him an easy choice for the Huskies Hammer !
Lets all come out to the Woolwich arena in Elmira Friday at 7:00 pm to encourage the boys to keep up the great work ethic for the entire tournament this weekend!
