Huskies Battle Hard, Kept Off Scoresheet
Our Huskie boys skated and battled for the puck all game but never solved a hot goalie and the tight-checking LL1 Paris team.
In the past few games we have been bitten by both the slow start and the unlucky bugs but our Huskies attacked the puck at both ends of the ice and made their own scoring chances in all three periods as a result. The only thing stopping our boys from breaking out of a bit of a slump and going on an all out scoring spree was a hot goalie that was both lucky and good (We have notified the local authorities that several robberies have taken place)! All we can say from a Coaches' perspective is that the boys are giving full effort on every shift and nobody wants to miss their chance to contribute. We are working our positions better and being more aggressive when challenging for the puck which is exactly the things we have been working on consistently in practice. We are building a contender for the long haul, so we like our progress thus far for sure. Cole D claimed the Huskies' Hammer with solid play all over the ice including stopping rushes in the neutral zone, and developing some good chances in the offensive zone. Good Job! Brody also did his part coolly holding the Paris team off when they were buzzing around our net with chances in the second period, shutting the door on several shooters. We continued to have boys do exactly as we asked them whether in their more comfortable positions or not and we always value hard work over flashy plays any day. We will be hard at it Friday am and then Gameday Saturday converting those efforts into points!
