Saturday Oct 19th saw the Oak Grove Cheese Atom LL2 Huskies facing off against the visiting Paris WolfPack. Looking to start the season with a victory, the Huskies were up for the challenge.
The Huskies provided the fans with a great effort, despite the fact that the team was still adjusting to new faces, positions and coaching staff. Enthusiasm and team focus shined through as New Hamburg delivered some high-powered offence.
Ryan Yost opened up the scoring, lighting the lamp on a well deserved goal - Owen Burns and Domink Michale with the assists.
Tanner Snyder continued the Huskies attack, beating the Paris defence and netminder to put the home team up 2-0.
The Huskies offence continued to fill the Paris net, with a red-hot Quinn Klasic netting two more big goals (assisted by Mason Pereira) to end the game with a 4-0 Huskies win.
A solid performance from the Huskies defencemen, along with shutout goaltending by New Hamburg's Shaun
Zwosta sealed the deal for the home team.
Looking forward, the team will be squaring off against Twin Centre on Oct 26th in
St. Clements.
