Novice A, U9, 2013-2014 (New Hamburg Hockey Association)

Novice A Huskies OMHA champions! written by Mike Eichler The Erb Transport Novice A Huskies completed their dream season with 2 victories on the weekend to bring home the OMHA Novice A Title.  Leading the series 1-0, On Saturday in New Hamburg for Game 2, the Barrie Colts changed their strategy and played a very strong defensive game and gave the Huskies the best opposition they have seen this season.  A nice deflection on a point shot gave the Colts the 1-0 lead.

Novice A start Finals with win  written by Mike Eichler The Novice A boys came out flying in Game 1 of the OMHA finals against the Barrie Colts with a 5-0 win!  It was 1-0 early in the game but Barrie kept the score close through the first period.  New Hamburg’s tenacious forecheck set the Colts back on their heels in their end, and 2 rebound goals in the 2nd period deflated the Barrie arena and they could not recover.  The Huskies continued their hard work and defensive zone coverage and good goaltending stifled any opportunities the Colts had.   

Good Luck to your New Hamburg Novice A Huskies as they begin their 2014 OMHA Final Series.  They will be match up with Barrie Colts and play for the 2014 OMHA title. First game of the series begins Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 3pm in Barrie.  Second game will be played at the WRC on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2pm.  Please come out to support this hard working group of boys! written by Mike Eichler The Erb Transport Novice A Huskies have defeated the Burlington Eagles in the semi finals!  3 straight victories with scores of 6-2, 2-0, and 4-0 have moved them onto the OMHA Finals.  The boys get a few days rest as they await the winner of the Barrie vs. Innisfil semi-final to determine who they will play.  Check the website and see signs at the Township, Arena, Rudy Held’s, Post office and others in the area for updates of the game times for the Finals!
